SuiteRulesCanada

Research method

How SuiteRulesCanada handles official sources, local source depth, review dates and corrections.

Source order

We prefer current municipal, provincial and federal material over contractor blogs or copied summaries. A dedicated topic page is labelled differently from a general municipal route.

No borrowed numbers

If a dedicated local source has not been verified, the city page does not invent a height, deadline, setback or unit entitlement. It links the official route and explains what to verify.

Local pages are not interchangeable

Where official sources provide a local rule, the page summarizes that rule. Where they do not, the page stays narrower rather than filling space with a nearby city’s rule.

Review cycle

Site content was reviewed 2026-09-14. Time-sensitive rules should be rechecked before work, especially winter operations and recently amended zoning.

How source depth is labelled

“Dedicated local source” means the municipality publishes a page, guide, bylaw or application specifically about this topic. “General official route” means the city’s current permit, bylaw or zoning hub is the honest starting point, but we did not find a topic-specific municipal page to summarize. We do not turn a general hub into a made-up local rule.
